Course Description

This course is designed for adults and older teens who want to build confidence and competence outdoors. Participants will learn essential outdoor skills including the fundamentals of outdoor recreation, safety, and self-reliance. Participants will learn essential skills for enjoying the outdoors safely and confidently, including outdoor/emergency preparedness, navigation, wildlife identification, camping basics, fishing fundamentals, hunting fundamentals, conservation principles, and outdoor ethics. Through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities, participants will gain the knowledge needed to begin exploring Michigan's outdoor opportunities.
