Course Description

The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) pre-enrollment Physical Fitness tests are offered at the Oakland Police Academy, which is an authorized test site.  The MCOLES pre-enrollment Physical Fitness test consists of four separate events: vertical jump, sit-ups, push-ups, and a 1/2 mile shuttle run. Candidates are required to pass all four events of the test to be successful. 

To participate in the Pre-Enrollment Physical Fitness test candidates must bring the following items:

  • Completed Physician’s Health Screening Form (TC-50) which requires a health screening by a licensed M.D. or D.O., within 180 days of the test date. (Please note:  Physician's Health Screening Form must have the Medical License No. to be valid)
  • Gym shorts and t-shirt or sweat suit
  • Gym shoes
  • Athletic supporter (males), or bra (females)
  • Driver's license or other government-issued photo ID

You will receive two copies of your MCOLES Physical Fitness test score sheet on the same day of the testing.  Keep one copy for your records and one copy for the academy or agency that you are applying to.  If you fail this examination you may reapply at a later date at any of the MCOLES testing sites.

The cost for the pre-enrollment Physical Fitness test is $45.

 

Prerequisites

Register for the particular MCOLES Pre-Enrollment Physical Fitness Test (good for 180 days only), arrive on test day with completed Physician's Health Screening Form,  photo ID and dressed appropriately.
